Services : Antenatal classes; antenatal, birth and postnatal doula services; birth story healing.
As a doula and childbirth mentor, my work — and my joy — is to support you to define and navigate your own journey through pregnancy, birth and early parenthood while nourishing your mind, body, heart and spirit. I help you to prepare deeply and confidently for birth and parenthood, and to unearth the inner resources you never knew you had, I facilitate and care for you and your partner throughout labour and birth, and I nurture you as you find your parenting feet.
I offer my professional skills, knowledge and resources, responding sensitively to your unique needs, and believing in you all the way. I aim to have you feeling deeply connected with yourself, your loved ones, and your community.
I believe that:
The birth of a child is also the birth of his or her parents
Birth is rarely as we expect, often transformative, and always sacred
Birth tends to be safest and most normal when parents feel powerful, nurtured and connected
The best decisions come from bold, compassionate exploration of external information and internal knowing; from seeking questions as well as answers.
Birth is a profound rite of passage, for mums, dads, and babies and should be treated as such
A little bit of my journey…
I have always hada passion for the human heart, mind and spirit, but my birth as a mother seemed to peel away and remake me. I was awoken to the profound potential that our inner, human experience of birth has in shaping our self-beliefs, our parenting and our future births.I began training as a childbirth mentor and doula with international organisation Birthing From Within in 2012, and attended my advanced mentor training in 2013. I am also a trainee health psychologist.
Now let’s talk about you…
This is your birth, but you shouldn’t have to do it all alone. All parents deserve to have a trusted, understanding ally by their side as they journey into the unknown. Please feel free to contact me for a chat about antenatal preparation, doula support and/or processing a previous difficult birth experience.
