Homebirth Network Services
Meals
The Homebirth Network organises a meals service for any member and her family who would like nutritious, home cooked, hand delivered dinners in their post natal period. The service works by involving the far reaching community of home birthers to cook for each other, so that once you’ve had your baby and need some rest and repair time, or are frantically busy trying to fit everything in, some of your meals will be looked after for you.
If you are pregnant and would like to utilise this service, you can register your details including due date, at the coffee mornings or via the website (email service officer). We hope to be able to get 1 – 2 weeks of meals organised for you.
If you would like to join the database of cooks, also add your details at the coffee mornings or via services on the website. When a woman births in your area, you will be contacted to see if you would be able to help out.
This is great way to be part of a true network. You don’t have to be a top chef, we all cook for our families. One night every so often, you will have a bigger family to cook for, sharing your yummy food with those who truly appreciate it!

Birth Pool Hire
Why choose Pool in a Box
- It’s fantastically comfortable and welcoming and it has handles in all the right places
- It has a built-in seat for bonding with baby after birth
- It is easy to clean up with its included disposable liner
- It can be adjusted to the right height for you with its 3 independent chambers
- It is fit for purpose: certified by medical device regulators.
Why choose waterbirth?
- Greater comfort and mobility
- Promotes deeper relaxation
- Water minimises the pain so effectively for most women that it reduces or eliminates the need for analgesia.
- Immersion helps relieve anxiety and promote relaxation
- Water relaxes the pelvic floor muscles, as it softens the vagina, vulva and perineum leading to fewer injuries to these tissues.
The pool will generally be available from 1-2 weeks before your due date and you have it until after the birth of your baby. It will be available for pick-up from Goodwood and we would suggest that if you go into labour before picking it up then ring us and we will endeavour to either get it to you (depending on where you live) or get you to arrange someone to get it as quickly as possible!
Hire of the pool is $130 for members or $160 for non-members plus a $200 refundable deposit. This includes the pool, one disposable liner, an inflatable cover and an air pump. Hire does not include any hose attachments.
We prefer direct deposit but can take cheques too. The $200 deposit we can take by cheque and we just won’t cash it. If you pay the deposit by direct debit we have to return it to you by cheque. The money only needs to be paid in time for us to check that the hire fee has cleared before we loan the pool out.
