About Us ...
Birth is a natural, healthy, life-giving
event which you may choose to share with your family and friends in
an atmosphere of joy and trust.
Research shows that planned homebirth
for low-risk women, attended by a suitably experienced registered
midwife, is as safe, if not safer than, hospital birth.
The Homebirth Network of SA is a community
group which supports and encourages women in their quest for a safe,
fulfilling and empowering birth experience.
The group
also works for changes in the health care system in order to better
accommodate the needs of women who choose to birth at home.
Meetings ...
Coffee Mornings ...
These are held 10am till 12 noon on the First Friday
of every month. (Please see our Events
page for specific dates.)
Goodwood Community Centre, 32 Rosa Street GOODWOOD
SA.
Our coffee mornings are open to all and are a great
place to learn about homebirth. Local Midwives and Doulas attend regularly,
along with those planning to birth at home and those who have already
done so. We have an information table overflowing with take-home literature
as well as our library, which is open for browsing and from which
members may borrow. Kids are welcome and are catered for with a toy
room off the side of the main hall as well as access to an outdoor
playground and kiddie sized toilets!
We ask a cover charge of $2.50 per adult to cover
hall hire costs and please also bring a plate of morning tea if time
and fnds permits.
Please contact Bronni at coffee.coord(at)homebirthsa.org.au for further information.

Business Meetings ...
These are held 9:30am till 12:30pm on the Fourth
Friday of every month. (Please see our Events page for specific dates.)
Eastwood Community Centre, 95 Glen Osmond Road

(great outdoor playground in plain sight) business meetings. These
are your opportunity to get involved in the decision making processes
as well as to offer your practical assistance to tasks as they arise.
New energy and ideas are always welcome!!
Room hire is paid for by the network for these
meetings, however we do ask that you bring a plate of morning tea
to share if time and funds permit.
Please contact Lorikate Wynee for further information.
